Noppakao Sucharitakul
August 30, 2018Ms. Sucharitakul is the Executive Vice President of the Stock Exchange Thailand (SET), and responsible for social development and corporate communications. She earned a Master of Science in Political Science from Thammasat University in Thailand. Under her leadership, the SET is not only guided by the philosophy of “inclusiveness,” whereby national growth, business growth, and individual growth must be developed in concert, but its operations also align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of Ms. Sucharitakul’s key concerns is the lack of financial literacy among Thai people. Fifteen years ago, SET embarked on an education campaign to help people safeguard their wealth and prepare for retirement. Unfortunately, a compulsory financial and entrepreneurship study program was never included in the school curriculum, which resulted in an inadequate level of financial literacy among Thais. Currently, while most financial institutions perform education campaigns and/or wealth services only for their clients, SET seeks to complement this by providing financial education for other individuals.
