Takayuki Fukushima
May 14, 2019Mr.Fukushima is currently an Attorney and Deputy Director of the International Affairs Division, Minister’s Secretariat, Ministry of Justice in Japan, where he is mainly responsible for comprehensive and general policy development in international affairs of the Ministry. He has been extensively involved in policy development issues primarily related to legal technical assistance and the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (the Crime Congress), which is going to be held in Japan in 2020. Mr.Fukushima has been a public prosecutor in Japan for 14 years. He has over 10 years of experience in investigating and prosecuting numerous criminal cases, especially in economic, financial, and white-collar crimes. His experience of investigation in economic crimes over the past 6 years made him interested in corruption and transferred to be a Director of Special Task Division, the Deposit Insurance Corporation; a public body dealing with bank failure and payoff, made me familiar with finance. Mr. Fukushima completed his LL.B. from Nagoya University in Japan in 2003.
