Weston Msowoya
May 14, 2019Mr.Msowoya is currently an Executive Director of Centre for Community and Youth Development (CCYD) in Malawi. He is also a National Partnership Advocacy Coordinator of Girls Not Brides Malawi. It is a national network consisting of 71 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and traditional leaders to competently influence systemic change to end child marriage through promotion of equality, human rights and child protection frameworks, as well as monitor the implementation and their alignment to international and regional instruments and national laws and policies. In addition, Mr.Msowoya has championed national and grassroots advocacy on law reforms, comprehensive sexuality education and access to contraceptive by women and girls, taken a leading role in national advocacy campaigns on youth development and child rights, and built capacity to hundreds of youths and children on a range of empowerment including economic, human rights, governance and Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Mr.Msowoya received his degree in Mass Communication, Sociology from ERA- Blantyre Business College in Malawi.
